Just What I Needed!

As I am preparing for an INCREDIBLY busy September, I'm beginning to get a little bit overwhelmed, waking at 2am, making mental lists in my head, not able to sleep. Not good for a Monday morning. And of course, as God knows each of us intimately, knows exactly what we need and when we need it, I open my devotions this morning to this verse.

Psalms 116:7 Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.

There is a LOT going on right now. God continues to supply our every single need. (I didn't say wants, I said NEEDS) And then sometimes he blesses us with a want, just because he loves us SO much. But he knows my every thought...he knows how to speak to me...and he's reminding me to rest. One foot in front of the other. One step at a time. HE will accomplish what needs to be done. HE will finish the GOOD work he's begun in me. THANK YOU LORD!!!

Lack of Blogging

I wonder sometimes if I should just forget about sleep in order to blog, since I can't seem to find the time to do it. It's either this or Facebook and I'm connected to more people on FB....I'm not sure ANYONE reads my blog.........:::crickets chirping:::......see, I thought not! ;)

I'm embarking on new journeys and I think God is testing me to see JUST HOW MUCH I'm willing to surrender for Him. I'll let you know if I pass.... ;)

Healing Rain

In early December 2009, my dear friend, Melissa Espiritu, was given the diagnosis of a rare, aggressive form of stage 4 gastric cancer. She is a pastor's wife, mother of 6 beautiful girls, ages 19-6, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a dear, precious friend.

God is using this journey of pain & disease in Melissa's life to bring glory to himself. Doctors, with scientific knowledge, had given Melissa 3 months to make memories, spend time with her family & friends, and say goodbye. God, on the other hand, is revealing himself to people in amazing, incredible ways, and is giving Melissa strength, energy, and most of all....healing.

As He draws different people, from different denominations, each week together in Melissa's family room, surrounding her with song, prayer, praise, prophesy and HEALING, HE is becoming the BEACON OF HOPE that our city, our county, so DESPERATELY needs!

If we, as Christians, as those who have FAITH in Jesus Christ, believe that God is EXACTLY who he says he is, and believe HIS WORD is true, then WE BELIEVE that he is the God of MIRACLES, and that our dear, precious friend, Melissa, will be COMPLETELY healed, live a long, healthy life, and see ALL of her daughters grow into beautiful grown women of God, just like their momma!
