Sometimes I don't feel very wise...

...but I am surrounded by so many who are. I learn so much from so many who are much younger than I, who have a hunger and desire for righteousness. They live and speak these words into action...

1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

Proverbs 24 (New Living Translation)

1 Don’t envy evil people or desire their company.
2 For their hearts plot violence, and their words always stir up trouble.

3 A house is built by wisdom and becomes strong through good sense.
4 Through knowledge its rooms are filled with all sorts of precious riches and valuables.

5 The wise are mightier than the strong,[a] and those with knowledge grow stronger and stronger.
6 So don’t go to war without wise guidance; victory depends on having many advisers.

7 Wisdom is too lofty for fools. Among leaders at the city gate, they have nothing to say.

8 A person who plans evil will get a reputation as a troublemaker.
9 The schemes of a fool are sinful; everyone detests a mocker.

10 If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.

11 Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to die; save them as they stagger to their death.
12 Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew. He will repay all people as their actions deserve.

13 My child,[b] eat honey, for it is good, and the honeycomb is sweet to the taste.
14 In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short.

Thank you, Lord, for revealing this to me today. And thank you, for the words that you place into the minds and mouths of those much younger than I....help me to learn. Their quest for the Truth puts hunger into my soul.

40 is the new 30

What does that even mean?

Tomorrow's my birthday.

I'll be 40.

Does that mean I'm really only 30?? I'm told I don't look 40. I don't feel 40. What does it feel like anyway?

LOL!

Dreams...

I've got one, brewing in my head. I'll let ya know more details as they become clear...which may be never. LOL!

I've enjoyed the few times I've caught Oprah's Big Give on Sunday nights, but let me tell you, I am SO glad that the person who was voted off last night is no longer there! UGH!

We've had a wonderful visit with precious friends for the past several days...I'm sad it had to end and they had to return to Tennessee, but in just a year or so, they'll be back near here to live again, so YAY! :)

Back to Indiana...Safe and Sound

Peanut and her singing traveling companions arrived back to Indiana (read: reality) yesterday afternoon, safe and sound. After arriving on campus, she and all others who are involved in the spring musical were required to go directly to music rehearsal. WOW! So much for catching up on jet lag, recovering from a long trip. I told the hubster that that was the price she was going to have to pay, she knew what this trip, and being involved with the musical would mean. He said the powers that be were being ridiculous. Either I have absolutely no sympathy, or I'm just trying to keep it real. It's all about choices we make, right? She could have chosen to come back to her room, immediately following rehearsal, and gone to bed....but I know my daughter much better than that. I'm sure her butt is draggin' this morning! Welcome Home Peanut!!

What's the Secret?

Maybe it's just to blog a little bit about each day, even though I'm convinced that I don't lead a very exciting life. :)

Friday is my favorite day of the week. I know that for the working population, it's a favorite because it means the end of the work week, whether it was particularly stressful or not. But for me it's because it means that I get to spend more time with my family. And hopefully the weekend isn't jam-packed so full that I don't get to enjoy them.

I have really really enjoyed my guys this weekend. Snow and all! :) Have I mentioned lately that I'm so happy to be a SAHM again? :)

Hawaii and Ice Storms

WHAT?? Those two don't go together, you say?

As I was driving from Indianapolis to home, in the freezing rain, looking at the ice covered trees, fences, road signs, etc., Peanut was calling from the beautifully breath-taking state of Hawaii. "It's in the mid 80's, Mom." My response? "I love you! And I'm SO glad you're having this opportunity, but Pbbbttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :) All I heard was evil laughter!! The nerve! ;)

Safe and Sound plus Last Game of the Season!

Peanut called last night and they're safe and sound on The Big Island!! She sounded SO excited! Actually, her first words to me was "Hey mom! I just got Lei'd!!" Hardy har har!! Ya'll will realize how hilarious that is if you know how straight-laced she is! :) They stayed in a church last night...the people from the church met them at the airport with signs and leis and made them feel incredibly special and welcomed. They were feeding all 50 of the travelers, then when they get up this morning they'll be having b-fast and preparing for their first concert.

Boo has his last b-ball game this morning! We couldn't be more happy with the progress he and his team have made this season. Much improvement and teamwork! Go Seminoles!! He's had a lot of fun. This will most likely be his last year in this program though...it's time to move on to a much more challenging program to prepare him for more play as he gets older...or at least that's what we think right now. We'll see what next season brings! (he did tell me a couple of days ago that he's really excited about football season this year though! Um....he's moving on to tackle! Stay calm mom, just stay calm!!)
